The essentials in three sentences

YOU wallet is a self-custody wallet. Your recovery phrase and your private keys are created on your device, stay there and never leave it — we have no access to them and cannot restore them. We do not create a user account, we do not ask for a name, an e-mail address or a phone number, and we use no analytics, advertising or crash reporting services.

What is stored on your device

What the app sends over the network

To load balances, prices and transactions, and to hand transactions to the respective blockchain, the app connects to our server at api.you-wallet.app (operated on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Gunzenhausen, data centre in Nuremberg, Germany). The following is transmitted:

Our server stores neither addresses nor IP addresses nor the paths requested. IP addresses are held in memory only for the duration of the connection and for rate limiting (protection against overload), and are discarded afterwards. There are no logs about individual users and no user profiles. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the function you requested) and (f) (protecting the service).

Our server forwards the requests to the following services. They see our server's IP address, not yours:

Blockchains are public ledgers: every transaction and every balance of an address is permanently visible there to anyone. That is in the nature of the technology and not in our hands.

Swapping

Swaps run through protocols on the Solana blockchain (Jupiter). The app builds the transaction on your device, you confirm it with Face ID, and it is handed to the network through our server. Neither we nor Jupiter hold your keys or your funds in the process. For fees we charge, the rate shown in the app applies; the fee is transferred to our address on the blockchain and is publicly visible there.

What we do not do

No tracking, no advertising, no disclosure to third parties for their own purposes, no analysis of your behaviour, no crash reports, no sale of data.

Our website

you-wallet.app hosts this policy, the legal notice and a support page. The site runs on the same server in Germany as our relay. It consists of static files: no cookies, no scripts, no fonts, images or content from third-party servers, no visitor counting, no sign-in, no forms. We keep no access log; which page you open is not written down anywhere. When you open a page, your browser necessarily transmits your IP address to the server, but it is not stored.

If you want to write to us, the support page gives an e-mail address. What you send us then sits in our mailbox for as long as we need it to reply.

Apple

When you download the app from the App Store, Apple processes data under Apple's own privacy policy. We have no influence on that.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. Since we store no data about you, a request for access will as a rule be answered: there is no data. Please write to the address given above.

Changes

If what the app does changes, we change this text. The version in force is in the app under "More → Legal". The same version is on our website at you-wallet.app/en/datenschutz.

This English text is a translation provided for convenience. The German version is the binding one.
